Good to see you’ve left the image alone besides fix the obvious damage. I’ve seen far too many of these restorations, even historical ones such as this where the restorer decides it’d look better after retouching the floor

Generally, I just repair the damage, leaving the original image as close to how it originally was. It depends on what the client wants.
